I just landed back in Los Angeles. If you missed the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards telecast last Sunday night it was a spectacular event. Thousands of people lined the driveway into the Las Vegas Hilton, where limos brought nominees and celebrity guests to the black tie extravaganza. Flashes from hundreds of cameras lit up the Red Carpet. Many of the celebrities were in residence at the hotel. They were escorted through an aisle-way in the hotel lobby surrounded by nearly a thousand hotel guests and hotel employees where they intersected and merged into one line with the other celebrities arriving by limo. Then they were all were escorted onto the Red Carpet for interviews and photos. The worldwide entertainment press was out in full force with dozens of television crews and hundreds of photographers. All you could see (and hear) were screaming crowds as their favorite performers arrived.
Out on the street, where it was 102 degrees in the shade, fans six deep kept up their shouts, for Ryan Seacrest, Ronn Moss, the casts of Lion King and Cirque du Soleil, Tony Orlando, Kelly Monaco, Regis Philbin and Rachel Ray (to name just a few of the biggies), who passed through the crowd while security escorted millions of dollars worth of jewelry and gowns that adorned Marie Osmond, Susan Lucci, and other beautiful and talented divas of daytime who made their way into the showroom. Erik Estrada received an especially warm welcome dressed as Highway Patrolman Ponch, as did Montel Williams, Chubby Checker and, of course, Dick Clark, whose tribute was touching and well-deserved. If you can find it on the internet I recommend you watch it.
One of the best parts of the show was during the tribute to Dick Clark and American Bandstand when Chubby Checker sang The Twist. Everyone in the house stood up and danced. I have never experienced something like that at any concert or event. As I understand it, the same happened around the world and efforts are being made to ask Guinness World Records to record a new record for the number of people twisting to Chubby Checker at the same time.
It was serendipitous for MMRGlobal to be a sponsor of the show with two Emmys going to medical programs: “The Doctors” for Best Informative Talk Show and to Dr. Oz, who got Best Talk Show Host. Clearly MMR is in the right space at the right time and in the best of company. It was a great show. I am proud that Kira and I were part of it and MMR was a sponsor. Two sensational After-Parties later I finally got Kira to get off the dance floor about 3AM. The rest stays in Vegas.

It’s still hot in Las Vegas, 105 degrees predicted for today, and the excitement is building at the Las Vegas Hilton. As an Executive Producer I believe tonight will be nothing short of an extraordinary show. As a sponsor and advertiser MMRGlobal will be showcased with some extraordinary acts, which we will all see in just a few short hours. If you haven’t seen Blue Man Group, or the latest Cirque du Soleil show in person, the next time you’re in Las Vegas, check it out. The Kiwanis are ending a convention at the hotel. I understand their biggest thrill was seeing Regis Philbin in the elevators. Celebrities are moving regularly in and out of rehearsal, including The Lion King ensemble.
Everybody’s talking about what illusion David Copperfield is going to wow the audience with. It’s a tightly guarded secret, as you can imagine. Marie Osmond and Tony Orlando are expected to show up along with Garth Brooks. Yesterday was a scene when Dick Clark checked into the hotel. This is an All-Star event that will be broadcast to an estimated audience of more than 6 million.

“The More you give to the universe the more you get back”…………Robert H. Lorsch (over and over again).

Since the early days of my childhood I have been blessed to have a string of mentors who have shared philosophy’s and ideas that stuck. One of these is these ideas is the concept more you give out to the universe the more you get back. Meaning that investment in making a difference correlates to return financial and otherwise. In my case I took that lesson seriously and it appears to have worked.
Having given many tens of millions of dollars in gifts to non profits and others my return has come in the form of a relationship with a remarkable woman in Kira and a lifestyle that gives me the freedom to continue giving back in everything I do particularly with MMR Information Systems (soon to be MMR Global).
As the world pushes through the European financial crisis to bring sanity and stability into the markets I am reminded of how our Companies products and services contribute to a stronger worldwide economy while allowing me to spend my days “Giving Back”. That’s because healthcare represents upwards of a trillion dollars in annualized expenditures on a worldwide basis. As a result there will continue to be demand for easy to use tools that help reduce medical costs. I am proud to be CEO of a global company that is in the business of helping reduce and manage these medical costs while at the same time potentially saving lives.
When I look at a business opportunities I look for the social component of what a company does to give back to the universe. How does that company contribute in a way that can change the planet and save lives. Dendreon Corporation is a great example of my belief system at work. Put passion behind saving lives and look at the results that can be achieved.
In this case just last week management and shareholders were rewarded with billions of dollars In returns for focusing on a scientific breakthroughs that will change the world for prostate cancer patients while revolutionizing cancer research and the science of immunotherapy. Dendreon’s drug Provenge is made from cells using a patient’s own immune system. Provenge therefore cannot be warehoused like many other drugs and requires specialized manufacturing facilities.
In recent announcements by MMR Information Systems our Company disclosed that it has learned that its pre-merger Favid Vaccine trials contained proprietary patents and technologies that could possibly determine the possibility of predicting which lymphoma patients vaccinated with a customized product made from their own tumor cells could conceivably mount a productive immune response against their own tumor.
As a result without knowing that Provenge would be approved MMR has been allocating capital and resources to do what it can resurrect data and patents from pre-merger Favrille trials that otherwise might have gone abandoned.
Now that the FDA has a approved the first customized vaccine we may see proof of my theory of “Giving Back” at work for the benefit of MMR.
When I get up in the morning I get to start my day with a job that empowers me to help people by giving them tools to help manage and afford better health care and save to by helping save a life of one of our users, their family members or pets. And now I may even have an opportunity to “Give Back” in ways I would have never thought possible, specifically in the fight against cancer by enabling science to take advantage of our companies assets.
It’s time for a one hour yoga class so I can clear my mind and go to the office to continue to “Give Back” for the benefit of all who will read this blog, our shareholders, users and my personal friends.

It is 6AM in Washington DC and I want to express how much I appreciate the support from all of you our employees, stakeholders and shareholders after yesterdays blog. It makes me especially good to know that many of you care as much about me personally and the schedule I keep as if we had been friends for a lifetime. So I am pleased to report that I did get 4 hours of sleep last night and I am raring to go today.
In yesterdays blog I wanted to make the point that “It’s never easy” and with hard work we will continue to move forward one step at a time towards a finish line that set as our own personal goal. And when you do that magical things happen.
If you haven’t ordered the book Illusions yet please do. There is another line in Illusions that reads……… “Every person, all the events of your life, are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you.”
Many of you ask about the involvement of MMR’s board of directors and advisors and if they are actively supporting my efforts on a day to day basis. The answer is that they are very involved and rarely does a day go by that I do not talk to at least two directors and at least one advisor.
When I travel Bobbie spends weeks (sometimes months) on advance work lining up meetings with every available minute of time. It’s a 24 hour a day tireless and thankless part of her job. Because I am in Washington DC we will reach out to advisors and directors former House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt, Former Congressman and Under secretary to the Department of Homeland Security Asa Hutchinson , and of course Former Administrator to the SBA Hector Barreto who I am actually here with.
These guys never say no and yesterday Dick Gephardt and Greg Carnrick working with Bobbie made the impossible “possible”. I have been trying to get MMR in front of the Obama administration particularly The Department of Health and Human Services and specifically in front of David Blumenthal the National Coordinator For Health information technology or better know as “The Man” in health IT circles. Although his office does not buy anything or endorse anything his office does set the agenda about the services and technologies that will define the next step to a digitized health system including the framework and shape of EMR’s and PHR’s to come.
As of yesterday morning May 4th at 6:30AM the answer for this trip was no way will it happen. Then about 30 minutes after I released my blog we were advised that I should be in his (Mr. Blumenthal’s) office at 3:45PM. (I never knew this meeting was coming.) That’s the good news. The bad news is I never got the message, nor did Bobbie, When I did finally did get the call and learned about the meeting now 90 minutes away I ran to the hotel, found my best suit and came downstairs to finish a meeting and television interview with a representative from Gannet and Channel 9. Ten minutes later I was told the meeting was cancelled because we never confirmed it. I told Bobbie that I would be standing by ready to go and essentially to “beg” to “make it happen” by getting me back on the calendar (not an easy task). At 3:12 I get the call to be at Health and Human Services in 13 minutes for a short meeting with the coordinator.
Only 6 minutes late our 15 minute meeting went the better part of an hour where I went through a comprehensive overview and demonstration of MMR’s personal health record and professional system. One never knows where an opportunity like this will lead. However I do believe that MMR has an opportunity to make a difference now that the office of the National Coordinator has seen what we do and the simple elegant way we do it. MMR now has a voice that has been heard and can continue to be heard in the most important office of health IT policy makers in the US government. Thank you Dick Gephardt

Its midnight and I am on Gogo internet flying from Los Angeles to Washington DC. Yes I just returned from Capetown by way of Dubai on Saturday. Kira and I started Sunday in a yoga class, then relaxed at home with nearly 3 weeks of mail reminding the dogs and cats who we are. I spent Monday in the office on MMR Pro deployments, web site re-designs, advertising, sales, marketing, shareholder relations and editing a new MyESafeDepositBox sales video while participating in at least half dozen conference calls. Then I went home spent 30 minutes with Kira who is the greatest woman a man could ever call his wife and caught a red-eye to Washington DC. My body thinks its daytime (South Africa time) so I am getting an extra work day in.
Many years ago I ran across the book Illusions by Richard Bach. It’s takes the reader through a journey that teaches the power to manifest results. If you haven’t done so do yourself a favor and read it. The book is filled with teachings that can change your life. It did mine.
One of those teachings is the theme of this blog. “You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true. You may have to work for it, however”.
Being CEO of MMR Information Systems, (soon to officially become MMRGlobal) has been a journey which definitely requires a lot of “work”. As that “work” it would seem that MMR has been empowered to make anyone’s wish come true. However it’s true that we will have to continue working for it…..!
And working for it we will do. In the May issue of PharmaVoice there is an article on the meaning of EMR’s to Pharma and Clinical Research Organizations. The story talks about how an EMR can reduce drug trial costs and decrease time to market. What’s really happening is that the voice of the patient now becomes part of the equation. The patient will use a PHR module to record patient feedback to a data set. MMR already offers easy to use patient tools that can talk to virtually any EMR system that might be employed in such trials. That’s why MMR emerges in the article as a cost effective solution to this opportunity. The article signals the opening of another door to the use of our products and services.
I am now leading a daily effort to identify opportunities to monetize the Companies biotech assets. Also as MMRPro gets integrated into physician offices it takes 24 hours a day in care and feeding of customers to make sure we keep our commitment to deploy a solution that does not force them to change the way they do business.
Today Tuesday, I will meet with the Companies biotech consultants on opportunities with the companies Biotech portfolio. Then I will join Hector V. Barreto, Chairman of The Latino Coalition and a member of MMR’s board of directors introducing Kodak as one of the newest sponsors of The Latino Coalition (www.thelatinocoalition.com) at a private reception to kick off the Coalitions Economic Summit later this afternoon. MMR has been a Coalition Sponsor for nearly three years and requested Kodak join the association and create a program to offer Kodak products and services (including MRPro systems) to the Hispanic community.
On Wednesday I will participate in the Latino Coalitions Economic Summit where I will focus on calling attention to the value of MMR’s products and services to help manage healthcare costs in the Hispanic community. I will participate in sessions with former House majority Leader, Newt Gingrich, Senators Lisa Murkowski, John Cornyn and Robert Mendez, Congress persons Pete Session, Xavier Becerra, Mike Pence, Joe Baca and Eric Cantor. Also in attendance will be Karen Mills, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and senior executives from Intuit, Pfizer and our strategic partners and MMR sales team from Kodak. Also MMR has been a sponsor of the Coalition for nearly three years.
Then before the end of the day I will make a presentation at the Rayburn building to a number of Congress persons not attending the Economic Summit and staff members that are specifically responsible for healthcare.
The operative words in the quote from Illusions are “You may have to work for it, however”. “However” the energy to work as hard as I do is only possible because of all of you, the MMR family of management, employees and shareholders. To Bobbie who was probably still up at 3AM waiting for me to land in case I need her for anything, to AJ who was emailing me at 4AM with Ingrid in response to the 50 emails I sent on the flight and all the rest of our tireless team. Then there is the great group of supportive shareholders who know I am always on the other end of a phone somewhere in the world listening to your thoughts and ideas and appreciating you for your support.
Oops….It’s 6AM PST and it just got busier.

There Are No Accidents

MMR just completed our first week of meetings with Chartis in Johannesburg South Africa. Chartis hosted a worldwide conference where executives representing more than 20 countries including South Africa (the host country), Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and the US. MMR spent the better part of two days meeting with all and discussing a kick-off of a ChartisESafe deposit box in the respective regions. The enthusiasm from attendees was high and I was surprised at how fast some of these countries want to get product into their local market in a much shorter time frame than the typical MMR customized product launch. Additionally Nihilent, our development partners have a 250 person development office in Johannesburg so we were able to spend hands on time on product development of features that can help us remain a better competitor in the multibillion dollar Health IT marketplace.
The company now is currently focused on the MyMedicalRecords.com Personal Health Record, MyESafeDeposit.com safe deposit boxes and MMRPro. However we are always looking at ways to expand the features in our products and services, particularly MMRPro.
I often will say in response to the events in my life “There Are No Accidents”. All my life I have collected elephants. I never knew why other than for a superstition I learned as a child. Specifically elephants bring luck when their trunks are pointed to the door. Anyway I love my collection. Yesterday I took a day of downtime. Which means I had to find a Safari where I had reception to my blackberry. It worked. I somehow was on a vehicle that ended up in the middle of a pack of 50 elephants. Very exciting and truly magical for this the collector. I hope the “superstition” is correct.

Greetings from the other side of the world. Today will be the last day of the first work week of our Chartis International tour. Reception to MMR as an integrated policy benefit is very good. Today I have meetings scheduled at 2 locations about 150 miles apart. Doug Helm and I will meet with teams representing Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, to name a few. The good news about these types of trips is I never know when to be awake or when to sleep so that lets me work nearly 20 hours a day for you. Dubai was fascinating. Although my trip there was exploratory the potential for the region is very exciting. I was very impressed with the development and I saw more cranes in 1 day than I have ever seen in my life. Special thanks to our friends Sandi and Bruce Garrett at GRS. While I was traveling the company reached an agreement with sanofi-aventis through their good efforts. I hope to share more with you about the Chartis meetings as they develop. By the way, MMRPro is evolving faster than I am moving around the world. New features such as international outbound fax for ex-pats were added today and the ability to add patient calendar reminders will be added next month. Well its 4:30 AM and I a being picked up in 45 minutes so I have to sign off now.

In addition to our Personal Health Record and Professional Health IT products and services, MMR continues to learn more about its pre-merger Favrille assets, the value they can bring to our shareholders and the secrets they might hold for the benefit of Cancer research.
As discussed in our recent March 2nd news release, MMR has been informed that it may have opportunities to enter into relationships that could lead to a re-interpretation of the previous Favrille cancer vaccine trials. Through May of 2008 pre-merger Favrille had spent more than 140 million dollars on the creation and development of intellectual property. This IP includes clinical trials data from patient samples, patents and other assets. We look forward to sharing more information about these opportunities with you in the near future.
Based on continued discussions with the company’s biotech consultants and others we now understand that the IP may unlock ways to create “custom-made” cancer vaccines and other opportunities in cancer research. We understand that these assets could be of value to biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, research organizations and others.

Maybe some of those kids will use these assets to make a difference in the fight against Cancer. Who could have thought a PHR in an insurance policy?

Who would have thought that MMR’s growth would come from an industry other than healthcare. Later this month Doug Helm & I will leave on a two week worldwide marketing effort meeting with Chartis executives from the UK, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, France, Germany, Argentina, and South Africa (to name a few) representing dozens of additional markets around the world. Despite lead times for translations and foreign regulatory compliance matters the Chartis relationship proves major companies are recognizing the importance of the Personal Health Records in our daily life. Seeing MMRPro systems going out the door and Chartis come in the door shows that our management team has delivered results. The company continues to believe having a Personal Health Record could someday be as common place as having a credit report. Based on recent announcements MMR may have an opportunity to lead the way in the PHR market through the insurance and banking industries. It appears that the PHR business will grow from the biggest segments of the world economy including healthcare, insurance and financial services. Get in the PHR Business with a leader

Recently many shareholders have asked me how they can support your company and help sell our services, timing could not be better. Who would have thought that the month we would be installing our first sales of MMRPro we would be experiencing the most significant change to health care in our lifetimes. It was almost like having the US Government as our spokesperson.
MMR is a company blessed with a Cinderella story. When I was younger Dr. David Rubin, a world famous doctor told me “the mark of a man is not the way he accepts adversity, the mark of a man is the way he creates the adversity he has to accept. Your company and its management team has work through every challenge and every adversity to now be in its is on its way to running in the Superbowl of Electronic Health Records.
This week we will also culminate a 2 year sales effort with an announcement of the biggest deal in our companies history and probably all of the Personal Health Record space portion of health IT. As a result our reach will expand to more than 10 additional countries over the next 12 months.
Last for now as a result of the recent legislation we are learning many more companies are showing interest in a Personal Health Record as an employee benefit. Whenever this type of opportunity presents itself membership to MMR sites grows. And at the same time the Company generates revenues from Members and Users.
Members are everyone in an employee group, or membership organization. That’s because when we sign up large groups or employers we get paid a fee for everyone in the group or company, all those people who become members. Then a smaller % of them (up to 18%) become users. So if you know employers or groups that you think would be interested in learning about selling PHR’s send them our way and when they sign up their members (and users) you get paid. Interested?
